The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 只有最后熊猫家族集体变身那算是有一点带感。
本来以为是个可爱精巧的romcom，结果是探索人性的剧情片。我一开始是比较同感南希，到后来会比较同感里奥。我觉得如果我是里奥，第三次会面之后我绝不会再见南希了。她越界了，但是剧情表现的好像是她推到里奥的成长。爱玛汤普森的表演绝对是影后级别的，但是我觉得编剧对南希太宽容了。
除了满足福瑞控，还有接纳自己。看得呜呜哭，老姐妹们再次放弃了自我和解的情节让我特别悲伤……
有朋友真好。学生时代真好。MeiMei生在欧美真好，这样的结局certainly won‘t happen here。

J’adore!!!!!!一开始就觉得很有年代感、跟自己的小时候非常relatable，尤其是たまごっち和班里女孩都在追的boy band，到最后meimei说一切都发生在2002年的时候才恍然大悟导演是在回顾自己的coming of age，一看导演果然只比我大上几岁，算是同一代人。熟悉的环境熟悉的设定让我的心情跟着主角一起坐过山车，想知道妈妈爸爸和婆婆背后的故事～～

奉劝那些觉得自己不工作还可以去当鸭的普信男看看这部电影吧，身材颜值谈吐风度得样样兼具，职业门槛太高，还是老老实实搬砖吧
熊猫是你对身体的主张。麻麻的那只熊猫也太酷了，和家人和解的部分，虽然已经猜到，还是忍不住挺感动的。
好棒啊，好细腻的作品，真的是非常可爱的作品，无论从角色形象到剧情的铺陈都非常顺和抓住细节和特征，Ming配音居然是吴珊卓，怪不得听到的时候觉得好熟悉！一看这个故事就知道是有切身体验的，太真实了！
继续并扩大了”包宝宝“的华人母女情。如果扩充到北美母女情感创作传统，可以说成是谭恩美《接骨师之女》的调皮动画版。造型和动作设计都太可爱了，尤其到最后，婆婆、妈妈、女儿三个都变身红熊猫，在念经和20年前流行舞曲remix中，绕着多伦多塔和巨蛋追打，实在是中西欢乐结合的最佳范例。
哪一个东雅女孩不是这样被规训着长大的，母亲也曾经是叛逆的少女。母女和解那段我爆哭😭
