The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 电影本身还是挺具有娱乐性的，挺好看的，令人目不暇接的动画部分很精彩，country road也很好听，但我现在看不了宣扬为了多数人（所谓的“整个社会”）牺牲一个人（少数人）的故事。这种理念被滥用的丑态我们近几年看得还不够多吗？
开心麻花导演编剧真的拉胯，喜剧也煽情，还升华了将近四十分钟。美团绝对投资了而且力度不小。刚子配上黄色宇航服，真有你的，分分钟出戏。
全球顶流是刚子？还有点自知之明
某种程度上，大约是想做某种结合和转变，喜剧的科幻片，结尾的煽情在喜剧里的确不怎么讨好，而且中间有煽情立马转搞笑的，导致后面煽的太过了。
幽默的人骨子里都有一种浪漫，浩瀚的太空，空荡荡的空间站，一人一刚子，整部电影都弥漫着一股孤独的浪漫，更不用说袋鼠拉车+Coldplay的梦幻联动，在中国科幻史上会是一个名场面了
就还行吧，笑点全靠口嗨和烂梗，我累了。漆罐克服重力直触月球表面我能说一年。最重要的一点是，为什么要阻止小行星毁灭地球！为什么！！！
果然学好数理化，走遍宇宙也不怕，要学文科的，得跟袋鼠相伴到老了。
沈腾对得起观众对他的期待！
电影卖大钱，公司不裁员。老板心情好，上班压力小。
切。。。果不出我所料，月盾计划、陨石撞击、地球废土科幻、全球直播、和袋鼠的插科打诨、观众的观看反应、维修工对指令长的爱恋……一通走马观花式地堆给观众，唯独跟“独行”没一点关系；至于喜剧，基本可以断定，开心麻花连它们过去引以为傲的小品式的搞笑手段也已经到了即将枯竭的地步。我们还嘲笑好莱坞缺乏原创只投上亿美金大IP，未来加点成本包装成大片整它个几十亿的不是容易得很，春节档那什么“不太冷静”的什么片都能26亿，这个我是丝毫不怀疑的。
麻花做大情节和设定的功力一直是非常厉害的，可惜小情节一直撑不起来，只有一些带梗的高光时刻。好比他们设定好了A点和B点，但是如何从A走到B搞得很草率。“都得死”和“中间人”的概念我是非常喜欢的，因为我本人就一直思考死以及活在中间。这部电影显然想要有所表达，但是又习惯于把一切掰开揉碎嚼烂了喂给观众。那个袋鼠到底是干嘛来了？人和活物的羁绊是很能共情的，但是也太开玩笑了吧。两位主演的演技其实容易让人代入爱情，但是情节上有点硬了。喜剧有假定性，但太空直播的镜头放在哪，导播又在哪。地球人（除了吹葫芦丝那位）除了给反应镜头就是呆着，我的小严良...片尾看到合作方有航天局，咋说呢，其实事情确实不能到准备好了才做，这片子的几个大的情节点其实都是挺有力量的。从A到B的路径不完美，难道就不出发了吗。"落枕"很好笑
两难也是为了升级冲突强插的桥段。
《夏洛特烦恼》我在电影院看了四遍，这部一遍就够了。
还行吧，以我国的科幻片水准来说，真的尽力了，能看出技术上是真舍得砸钱，也舍得下功夫的。本来以为是麻花双杰手笔，结果看到后半段逐渐发现逻辑上很多站不住脚的地方，导致我一路出戏，该哭的地方哭不出来，该被煽情的时候直犯别扭…地球上举灯月球上能看到（让星星现在被我们看到的光芒作何感受？）；女主前次毫不犹豫抛下男主独留月球，转头又说任何应该都不应该牺牲一个人的生命，我看着女主大义凛然的表情就怕她说这句结果她就是说了一字不差…逃生舱都抵挡不住的陨石乱流，男主肉身凡胎还推着一枚导弹就能完美避开，还能追上飞奔的陨石；太扯了真的，没办法，我就是逻辑强迫症，如果事实逻辑无法说服我，我就没办法投入剧情。结尾一看，果然编、导都和麻花双杰没半点关系。但总体值得鼓励吧，毕竟制作精良，也算为本土科幻片又添一笔亮色。
比漫画更合理一点，但漫画好歹是个happy ending啊。。。
时隔近三年去电影院看了这么一部，沈腾很卖力也拯救不了这个编剧和导演。可以说既不搞笑也毫无逻辑。一星给腾哥，一星给还能凑活过去的特效。
月球基地像小孩子画的，演员们尤其是马丽的演技烂的惊人。好久不见的降智片了...

科幻基本是“我不相信科学”的程度。但是沈腾太好笑了，沈腾和马丽之间的化学反应太好笑了，刚子和我的狗子基本没有差，“下落特烦恼”，“真是元气满满的一天啊——啊——啊——”
前半段还是开心麻花段子合集，我是一个都笑不起来，一些低俗的听了都想翻白眼了，真的蛮难吃下他们这套，考虑着打一星还是两星。好在大概在四十分钟后，主喜剧段落基本结束，后大半段的剧情向科幻情节与煽情向爱情元素都达到了合格商业片的水平，观赏性不错，再加上出色的音乐，最后的浪漫化表达做得够极致，有被煽到。总的来说还不错，可以一看。
