The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 2021.12.22看了4K版本，如今真的很难看到这么具有中国特色的动画了，这部动画确实不记得小时候看过，也许看过几个画面，但并不是我儿时喜欢的画风。小时候对中式动画并不觉得稀奇反而觉得土，到如今才发觉这些老动画的美。

完全没有触动到我，刻意拔高的鸡汤真的很难喝下去，我不喜欢。
当年每逢电视台重播，满院子的孩子就都没影儿了——统统回家看电视去。。。
在这个时间看这种温暖的电影当然是很合适，life is experience的大道理讲起来简单，但被目标和日程表推挤的lost soul，就是灯红酒绿之下如同工蚁的大多数人的程式化人生。而生活的力量，是躺在窨井盖上时吹过背脊的风，是坐在椅子上被“奖赏”的棒棒糖，是在地下铁里被音乐感动到震撼的瞬间，是拍打在脚背上的清澈海浪……愿大家都重新感受到生活的力量，感谢今夜Pixar在我心中燃过一场烟火。

如果把电影里各种玄乎复杂的设定都摘掉，剩下的不就是一个略显俗套且过于juvenile的故事，加大型Insta ”best inspirational quotes that’ll change your life”口播现场吗？！我就有这么一位热衷于在SNS上分享美式鸡汤（hashtag deep hashtag life hashtag motivation hashtag spiritual hashtag quoteoftheday) 的朋友。电影后半段我literally在任何角色身上都能看到他沉思的脸庞徐徐浮现，对着我这种uninspirational的人谆谆传（鸡汤）教。另外，作为musician男主的醒悟也来得太晚了吧，这一般是我们十几二十岁的thought process.
昨晚看完《生活多美好》，今天却被一堆烦心事困扰，晚上再看《心灵奇旅》，又觉得生活美好了起来。人生不如意事十之八九，但总有令人觉得幸福的日常，不一定要多成功也不一定要获得什么，抓住那些让人开心的小事也够了。
用灵魂出窍的方式，演一出妙趣横生的哲学命题，真棒！有人说，片子的主题是回归平淡。我不这样认为。回归平淡是首先承认成功的巅峰愉悦感。我认为片子想说的是，尽管当上导师的人都有很多成功事迹，但要提防本末倒置，那就是以为成功是生活的火花和意义。其实，人生的火花不在于目标与成功，而在于当下，不是得过且过随波逐流的当下，而是用心感悟的，春华秋实，生旦净末丑，百转千回的当下。无论成功与失败，有热爱，有勇气，有坚持，有温度，就是漂亮的人生。目标只是一种可视的量化的KPI，成功只是锦上添花的副产品，而已。
你不会知道，那个街边转招牌的人的心中，存在着一艘巨轮。
忽然对2021年充满了期待～不，立刻，这下一秒的时光，我都充满期待。希望电影带来的余波可以蔓延的久一点～
《coco》讲了往生后的故事，《soul》讲了出生前的故事，感谢皮克斯！感谢这两部电影，当我无法与生活和解时，它们给了我释怀的理由。性格缺陷，无法成为伟人，没有生活目标……这就是芸芸众生，这就是你我啊。可这又如何呢？不着调的音乐也可以jazzing，不要忘记生活本身，不要成为迷失的走火入魔的灵魂，这个星球上，平凡的每一天，都值得感恩。毕竟，我们都是找到了火花，才降生这个世界的呀！

有一种为了讲这么一个活在当下的主题，硬设计了这么一个故事的感觉。创意可以，但故事略硬，整体都跟寻梦的发展路线很像，后半部分却没有推上去，虎头蛇尾。人物转变生硬，有种想模仿寻梦却没仿成功的感觉。电影里这个所谓的活在当下，其实有点假大空，就好像追逐目标就一定会迷失，珍惜每一天的分分秒秒随时感受细节才是活着。但是其实生活本身没那么简单，感受分分秒秒的也可能是享乐主义？追逐目标的人也不一定就是那个不识大海的鱼？看电影的时候觉得仿佛是对的，回头一想就不是那么相信了
影片本身的经历和情节竟然这么相似，被放弃过的项目，又是怎么重新冲上的戛纳。皮克斯还是一口气塞了很多概念，不过聪明在这些想法都关乎情感：而如果于观影中的观众来说，影片将死板的接收概念转为情感共鸣，显然会更容易触碰到自己【世界上已经有了这么多厉害的人，为什么还需要你呢？】
片子不错，道理讲得比较清楚。对观众来说，感悟力和行动力是两回事。有行动力的人不需要太多的感悟，就能过得不错。
