The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 很中规中矩，抗疫题材中有些创意的，但是拍的太生硬了，没有现实生活感，整体也没什么特点。
“这猫要生娃啊”“你怎么晓得？”“老子生过！”…………全片最精彩对白。
演员都挺好，剧情没什么说的，电影始终是电影不是现实
蛮感人的，尤其是几次的突然死亡情节，蛮触动的。珍惜眼前人，拥抱吧，就现在！

除了黄渤，其他我都觉得很尴尬。特别是周冬雨和贾玲搭戏的桥段。贾玲和朱一龙实力演绎，贾玲所说的“都是姐的过客。”
旁边的同志一直哭，作为一点武汉疫情记录是可以的
五分钟落泪，看不得2020年那个寒冬的任何纪实片。
浪费了2022年首张电影票，但还是多给两星，算是向所有抗疫人们的感谢🙏

这是一种好残忍的习惯，我觉得不应该这样，从记录角度，会觉得这个电影还挺好的。
看完觉得，我是不是对主旋律电影要求太高了😅
希望通过小人物展现武汉疫情的温暖，但是过散了，而且有些真的刻意煽情了，显得有点假。不过黄昏恋是真的好磕，我太喜欢这一段一起白头的浪漫了。已经过了两年，那段记忆仿佛在梦里面，
因为有现实背景而更加感人，黄渤、贾玲演技很赞。
新冠疫情以来，虽然已经看过好多关于疫情，关于武汉抗疫的影视剧、纪录片、相关报道等，但再次看依然数次破防。这次主要聚焦在志愿者们，他们一个个都那么真实可爱，除了逆行的大无畏让人敬佩，还有他们与身边同行者，救助者，还有家人们之间有爱的互动，让那个冬天不再寒冷，充满了温暖和浪漫，老戏骨们自然都演的真挚且让人动容，看者自然也觉得温馨而感动。
