The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex.     惊艳的开头，直到女主医院醒来回家。以为会看到一部高中版《修女也疯狂》，没想到是全员过家家。人物性格扁平，角色模式卡通，反派女的女儿性格转变得莫名其妙，突然就你好我好大家好，歌舞升平，皆大欢喜，辅以一锅陈年心灵鸡汤。倒是片里暗讽政治正确的几个小段子让人印象深刻。

    开始还以为是普通老套的美式青春校园喜剧。拉拉队长在毕业前夕的表演中摔伤，昏迷二十年后苏醒。苏醒后的唯一愿望是重回高中，再当拉拉队长，成为毕业舞会的女皇。今时不同往日，中学已经不再评选舞会女皇，学生里也增加了不同肤色和取向的同学，成为核心的标志也不再是成为拉拉队长，而是看你的网络粉丝有多少。虽然最后还是一个（迟来的）成长，以及与好友和家人的和解的故事，但因为新老观念的冲突以及四十岁大姐的少女心还是搞出不少笑点。
