The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? Movie of the year. A blessing for any theatre/musical lover or idealist. Story about 90s, Broadway, New York, creativity, love, fear, time, and life. Don’t mind Lin’s rusty directing, the emotions are so raw. R.I.P. Stephen Sondheim, who passed away just after the release of this film. We all have, and will always have a song unsung.

才华，真是一种太残酷的东西。纽约艺术青年们的生活状态，都是同一种模式咩？那些并没有绝对的才华的人，后来又怎样了呢？可能是因为没有看过rent吧…等以后看了，不知道会不会回来改分。

电影的剪辑和镜头切换是极致。音乐不错但是作为音乐电影来说的确偏弱。
从In the Height到这部，大概真的跟林曼威无缘了。穷困潦倒不被理解的艺术家故事早已被拍烂，本该突出的社会背景几乎完全就是背景，廉价的绿幕更加让影片的时代感大打折扣。听完伯恩斯坦紧跟着再听这部真的太不够听了
粉丝向作品，表演刻意，音乐随意，缺乏亮点，强行催泪。
开头的歌真是不错 但看到后边就开始乏味了 剧情的内核也是深深的第一世界人民的为赋新词强说愁 标准冲奥片 勉强给七分

看他的表演录像比看电影更感动。特别纽约。谁不是一边自嘲着一边执着呢，可惜现在聪明人全都去搞金融和写码了。
音乐剧粉滤镜加成，看到了很多Rent的影子，LMM这情怀牌很会打啊。

林聚聚导演的第一部电影长片，能为自己的偶像拍这样一部电影，让更多人了解他、记住他，一定是一件很幸福的事情。
音量逐渐推高，情绪越来越浓，唱的是生活的琐碎，歌的是生命的长度。每一个音符都在细数时间，每一个音调都饱含着对生活的热爱。不论朋友、爱人，失落、迷惘，都是灵感的来源，让自己疯魔，铸就为一个艺术家。当最后来了一个call back，结合到真实的人物，一阵眼泪感叹世事无常。
那些还留在这个行业、为了梦想默默奋斗的创作者们，为自己唱一首生日歌吧。
在得知桑德海姆逝世当天晚上在幕布上看到了60s的桑爷爷，一个暴击。Jon的歌是20岁时最爱，桑爷的则年纪越大越能体会，所以他们一个永远在30+，一个桃李满堂年年大寿。愿天堂永远有波希米亚人和小夜曲。
